Baby Stuff!

So we have baby stuff! It is so much fun to watch what used to be our quote, unquote "nursery" become our REAL nursery! Justin is like a kid in a candy store, and it is really sweet and an awesome sight to see him this excited! Gracelee has no idea what a good daddy she has! Not yet anyway! We are now excited to present the place where our little angel will rest her head and dream beautiful dreams and play dress up and grow and be the beautiful little angel we already know she is! Here is Gracelee's Nursery!

The Crib
The hutch and dresser
Wait.... a sewing machine??

a random basket and cloth?
Java Giraffe Ribbon??

And here are her baskets for the hutch! One of the hardest projects I have had, and certainly not the last! We have decided on a light, carnation pink, Java brown, and  tan for her color theme, and with those colors, animal print, and monkeys for Justin! BUT NO SOCK MONKEYS!!! Those things scare the bejeezus outta me! Gracelee, daddy was watching the football game and playing with pink fabric and an iron helping mommy make your baskets! There was a lot of time put into these, and daddy stepped away from his "man-ly" things to play with the pink stuff! What an awesome daddy!!! We love him! Now here are some pictures of our handy work....

The finished product
and the zebra bedding to match! Thanks Grammy!
and we cannot forget the light switch covers!
So much fun! Love to everyone! Thank you for your prayers of peace! They are working in my heart and soul, and the continuation of them is much appreciated! I know she is going to be great! Love and God Bless!

And here....... SHE is!!!

Little Gracelee Sutherland!!!!
It is amazing the feeling of love we have for her already! She has all of her parts, and they all work very well! Her measurements are all normal and accurate! Every little toe and finger are accounted for, and I can't wait to kiss every toe and finger! We thank the good Lord for the opportunity to raise a daughter with Him! Please pray that everything else goes as smoothly as these first 5 months! Please pray that she is born healthy and happy!!
Enjoy her little pictures!

Wahoo!!!

18 Weeks TODAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only 2 more weeks until we are half way!!!!!
*
Also wanted to share something with EVERYONE!!!!!!
*
You MUST go see the movie Fireproof, AND you must go to the nearest Christian Bookstore and pick up Adam Hamilton's Making Love Last a Lifetime. It is a wonderful book, and it is only 120 pages of the greatest information for both singles and married people!
*
Even if you feel like your marriage is strong, which I believe mine is, they have some life long messages.... yes, both the movie and the book! I feel even closer to Justin and I am only on page 62! Do yourself a favor!!!!

Bubble, Bubble!!!

imgres.jpg

Well, it has started to happen! Pretty frequently, too!! The most precious little movements in my belly. Although it is not something you can see or feel from the outside, I can definitely tell that this baby is a mover and a shaker! It mostly moves after I have eaten something or after I have stood for a period of time and then sit down. Sometimes it feels like it is doing a triple summersault off the high dive, and other times it is stroking the inside of my belly. I cannot wait until Justin can feel the kicks and moves, and I REALLY can't wait to kiss those toes!

*

*

I have to admit, though, I am really nervous! You know after TJ and Brittany were here and I got to watch them grow and change from infants to the wonderful young adults they are, I felt like I would be completely prepared for a child. Now, with only two weeks until we find out a gender and probably figure out a name, we are in search of baby furniture on Saturday, and I am freaking out a little! It is happening so fast, and am I really ready???

*

*

It is happening whether I am ready or not, and all I can think about is how close this baby will be to the other babies around us... Jaxson and his new sibling that will be born a week before ours, Little Parker, Luke, Christie's new baby boy that will practically have the same birthday as our baby, and that helps! It's nice to know good people and good families that have been through this before! Plus, momma is right around the corner, and Justin's momma is only 10 minutes away... Whew for us!

*

*

I love the fact that I can vent on this blog, and even if no one reads it, I feel better getting to talk about it! Until next entry, Love and Blessings to everyone!

Rehearsal Dinner and random pictures

So the rumble begins.... Just kidding! Like I have said many, many, MANY times before, my momma and my auntie are amazing women! My auntie put on the cutest Rehearsal Dinner with the theme being Cowboys vs. Redskins, since of course we are from Texas and Kristin's family is from Maryland. Really, everyone could wear whatever jersey they wanted, so my husband wore an Oiler's Warren Moon jersey and mom and Jimmy wore Texans jerseys! It turned out sooooo cute!!! The food from Rio Grande Cafe, which is Uncle Julios in the North, was delicious! Here is to the happy couple.... wedding pictures under this entry... ENJOY!!!

*

*
Michael and Kristin.... YAY!!! She is in cowboy blue!!!
I also thought it would be a cute idea to make "Mums- for- moms" since the theme was football, and since they don't do Homecoming mums up north, it was a little piece of "FLARE" from the south!! They turned out pretty cute!
And, Justin and I totally copied a picture we saw on Meredith's blog, but isn't it cute to see that MY husband loves Emmitt Smith and the Cowboys......... Just Kidding!!!! He loves the baby and we decided to show the world where our newest member awaits to be born, and how much we already love "baby!" BTW, NOVEMBER 7th is the day we find out what we are having if baby cooperates! Whoo Hoo!
BRian and Keila in Blues!!!
Team huddle.... look at Romo making the game plan with T.O. and Williams.... Go COWPIES!!!
Getting ready for the wedding was one of the most fun days, and I will remember it always!!! Robyn, Corey, and my auntie let me help get Jaxson ready to go!!! It was one of the most precious moments in all my life to be able to get this guy looking sharp!!! Thank you for sharing him because he is so darn cute and so lovable, and I am lucky to have the memory forever!
*

*
"Wheat....... Jaxson Wheat.... And this...... don't mind him! This is my partner "GiGi"
It hurts to look this good!
On the Bus..... Driving the bus looks like a future aspiration! He was so excited to ride right behind the driver!!! Thanks for sitting in my lap big J!!!! It was so fun!
Can you see him in the rear view???? I thought this was a cool picture.... good shot, honey!!!
And the scenery around the church.... ahhhh, fresh air, beautiful trees, and a blessed event!
More to follow.......

The Wedding

My sweet cousin Michael got married this past weekend to one of the dearest women I have ever known. Kristin and Michael were meant for each other, and I was so blessed to be able to attend this blessed event in Maryland, which, by the way, is absolutely gorgeous, and worth a trip EVER fall!!! Here are pictures of the wedding.... I love weddings!!!

Michael waiting anxiously...
And when he sees his beautiful bride walking graciously down the aisle to meet him and become his wife.... just a wonderful moment that brings tears to my eyes!!!
And then he kissed her with true love's kiss!!!!
And, "WE DID IT!!"
This beautiful cake was handmade by Kristin's aunt.... yes, that is right people, and she is not a professional, but she absolutely should be!!!!! On the flat part of the cake there were floral etchings and the detail everywhere was absolutely incredible! Plus, it tasted delicious!!
Casey gave the best toast in the world! It is so great to be so close to my family! These boys are like brothers to me, and to see the love and respect they have for each other is beautiful!!! Case talked about P-R-I-D-E: and I believe if I remember correctly, and forgive me because I won't do it justice, it meant
P: persistence- sticking together through thick and thin
R: Religion- keeping God in the picture and you can't go wrong
I- Intelligence- keeping it real and keeping each other in the "know"
D: Dedication- through the good times and the "bad" or smelly LoL!!
E: eventful- keeping the relationship alive
Anyway, it really was thought provoking and moving, and the perfect thing to say to a newlywed couple!!! Even if I didn't remember it perfectly, what I took away from it was that Casey was speaking to everyone in that room. I benefited from the toast, as I am sure everyone did! Thank you Casey because honestly, we need to be reminded of the way things should be from time to time!!!

And of course, we have Kristin joining the ranks in our family tradition of all the men singing "My Girl"

Ahhhh!!!!! Cake!!!!
Shake it, Auntie!!!
I think TJ got a little more than he bargained for when HE caught the garter!

Over all it was a beautiful weekend!! We had so much fun, and much love and blessings to the new Mr. and Mrs. Coon!!!!

I leave you with "My Girl" Family Rendition!

SO CUTE!

TWO...
THREE, CHEESE!!!!

My Competition!

Yes, this sweet little thing wore this shirt to Church, and I had to have a picture of it! Little Katie is one of the cherubs in my choir, and my newest competition when it comes to my husband's heart! It was so cute to see her in this little shirt and remember my first crush! Thank you Kelly for letting me share your daughter's cuteness!!!

I guess the doctor is RIGHT!!!

Well, I guess my April due date assessment is wrong! We had another doctor's appointment today, and this was the scary ultra scan. Only scary in that it is 85% accurate in detecting birth defects and heart defects, but we came out with a clean bill of health! As far as we know, this baby is perfectly healthy, and right on track! Thank the Good Lord!
*
We are officially 13 weeks and 2 days, and the measurements come out to 12.5 cm in length (that is about 4 inches for you American visuals like me!! = ) ) We are sincerely blessed, and even though the wait at the doctors office was insanely long (3 1/2 hours), it was well worth it to see this precious baby!!
*
We do have quite the drama queen or king on our hands though! The baby was jumping around and turning every which way, and then it would suck its thumb, put a hand in the air like John Travolta, and then it was the back of the hand to the forehead as if to say, "Oh, this world is too much!" I guess it does have to have some drama being kin to me! The dance moves come from its daddy!!
*
All in all, it was a precious moment, and great to hear that everything was tiptop! We await some blood tests, but I have all the faith in the world that those, too, will be great! I leave you with our "little peanut," which now actually looks like a tiny baby!!!! Yay!!!!!!!! Love ya'll!
*
Picture one, lying flat on its back, right hand in the air, and a little bubble nose. Oh I just can't wait to kiss, kiss, kiss that baby!
Picture 2, an arch in the back shows the little jumper in action! Hand still in the air, and a pudgy little belly!!!

Heart beat and Gender prediction???

We had our doctor's appointment yesterday, and it was the first time we heard the little heart beat!!! It was so wonderful and beautiful, and the look on my precious husband's face was amazing!!
*
Here is a question: who believes in the wives' tale and who doesn't?
*
Yes. There is a wives' tale that says a fetal heartbeat below or equal to 140 bpm it's a boy ("slow boy") and any fetal heartbeat 141 and above is a girl. It is a funny concept!!!
*
Justin and I have our own gender predictors in our mommas! It is really special to us to have people so interested in our little "peanut!"
  My momma says G-I-R-L!!! and Justin's momma says B- O- Y!!!
*
Right now, Justin and I have no special request except for a healthy baby, but it is fun to participate, even though we know God has already decided and is probably enjoying the fact that we are trying, in our human minds, to figure it out! = )
Well, based on the research I could do this morning, since I cannot return to work until Monday due to Ike, shows that fetal heartbeat may or may not be able to predict the gender.
*
Hmmmmmmm...... vague enough for you??????
Anyway! The range of fetal heart rates is 120- 160 or 170 bpm.
*
Ours: 153 bpm
*
Verdict: We won't really know until 8 more weeks if we hold a precious baby girl or sweet baby boy in our arms, and that's if peanut plays nicely and let's us see.
BUT.... if you are playing along...... the going prediction thus far is.........

I will SURVIVE!!! and We did! Whew!

Well... we survived Ike! What a scary ordeal!!! Friday night was fine until the electricity went out at about 2am. Then I couldn't go back to sleep, listening to the howling and whistling with the pouring rain and hail. My phone was the only source of connection to the world, and if you don't have any, you need to invest in some LED touch lights! Poor Lady couldn't see without any lights, and would cry until we turned some on so that she could see to jump up onto the bed with us. Poor little thing was so scared!
Once the morning light.... or sort of morning light, came through the slits in the boarded up windows, I was able to assess the damage. The lights remained off all day, and luckily, Brian and Keila had power and we could put our stuff in their refrigerator and freezer.
Once the lights came back on, I felt like everything had to be cleaned. We cranked the AC down, and slept really good, until about 6:30am. Then the electricity went out YET AGAIN!!!! UGHHHH!!!! Every time it went out, I felt like crying! Every time it would come back on, I felt like crying!
There are so many things that we take for granted in this glorious life we live! My poor dad is still without power and yesterday his water and sewage went out... and it was his birthday. Poor guy! Please continue to pray for those without!!! Justin drove down to the area where his sales territory is and just couldn't believe his eyes at all the damage! In fact I feel a little funny posting the pictures of our damage, but here they are! Thank you to everyone who was thinking about us! Our phones are a little tricky still, so we will be in touch as we can!

Lady before the blustery winds.....

And after the winds! J/K! She got a mommy trim since she needed one and the store was closed! She looks cute, but I am not good around her little face!
School is out until Monday.... hopefully there is not too much damage! It will be really hard to get back in the swing of things, but at least we have another break next Friday for Fort Bend County Fair Day! Gotta love a school schedule! Love to everyone and I hope you are warm, safe, and thanking God for every blessing you have! You never realize what you have until its gone!
Oh and Dr. appointment TODAY!!!!! YAY!!!!
