Back to life... and we begin with Gracelee's New Room!

I have to start this entry with an apology, as I have not been a good blogger. However, it is truly not my fault! My get away from reality IS my blog! I love to keep this up! I hope to turn it into a book that my children will cherish! So anyway, sorry... thank you to my husband who got my editing tools BACK and ready to use!

Gracelee needed a new space... with Sam the cat in a very good home (thank you, Jeannie for your help!), Gracelee is now able to sleep in her own room without having the interruptions from our hairy kitty cat friend, who occasionally would let out a demon scream from beyond and wake our angel from a peaceful slumber.

*

As you may know I am an avid blogger and a blog stalker of many... one that I love is Design Dazzle. The site is awesome and very inspirational much to the dismay of my poor, loving would- do- anything- to- make- me- happy husband! I saw a picture on there and it screamed inspiration for Gracelee's new room. So.... without further ado... 3 shades of paint later (the first 2 were not quite what I had in mind, making our little experiment VERY costly... but that is a story for another time ; ) )... crown molding custom installed by my wonderful adoring husband (with very little assistance from my parents)... Here is her new room! YAY!

LOVE IT!!! Thank you to all that made this possible!!

Library Day!

Thursdays at the George Memorial Library at 10am is the cutest Toddler time!

We will be attending nearly every one!

Little Miss Gracelee enjoyed herself to the fullest! We sang a little, danced a little, colored a little, and listened to stories... some even told by puppets!

*

After the fun and festivities, Gracelee and I got our very own library card and registered her for the summer reading club... where there is a will, there is a trophy!!! LoL!!!!

Summertime begins...

So summer has officially begun!

Working in the schools has such an advantage... it is not easy work, but the reward of having summer is well worth the work during the school year!

*

Our summer began with a church picnic at the Gordon Ranch... it was only like 113*F outside... but we had fun anyway! Grammy, Grandma, Pawpaw and TJ all joined us for the fun!

*

We started with lunch... of course... and then to the petting zoo!

*

We were a little bit surprised that God made two animals that were so similar but different animals all together... let me explain... my momma has a dog that is sort of like 'Marley'... he has been sort of ornery since his arrival... he greets you with his nose in your backside, he jumps on the counter to eat a whole loaf of bread in the plastic wrapper... ECT... At this petting zoo, we found the pushiest, most excited, VERY HUNGRY goat.

We nicknamed him Max... he would butt the others out of the way to get to the little cup of goat food that we were carrying... He tried to eat my shorts, and he DID eat Grammy's shirt... what a pain... WHAT A CUTIE!!! I have to admit that he was so cute, even in his devilish ways!!

Momma and Grandma were most excited to see a pony ride!

There was a lot of talk about whether or not Gracelee was old enough or big enough to ride, but I was insistent that we at least try! I figure it is something to look back at and smile... whether she cried or not... sort of like pictures with Santa...

She did not cry... quite to the contrary... SHE LOVED IT! We had a blast... as you can see!

This summer has a lot on the books, but I am going to try and enjoy this time I have with her! We are in the process of switching her to a big girl room... which is fun and expensive...

I want summertime to be remembered as "The time I got to spend with family, learning, loving, and having a GREAT time!"

I am super excited today because it is the last friday at school with children... I know it seems that if you work at an elementary school, you should like children... normally I do... Really!... This week, however, they are in rare form!

So this picture speaks words of ELATION!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Only 4 more work days after today and I get the WHOLE SUMMER with my little one! Toddler days on thursdays at the library... pool fun... a beach trip... Ahhh!!!!! I cannot wait!

I have been trying to get a "perfect" video of her walking... no such luck... so these will have to suffice! The first video I call "Fall into me". She is such a momma's girl sometimes! Her favorite book of the week is "Peek A Bloom"... it is a hide- a- picture book, and normally, we keep it out of reach... well, when she disappears for a while, it is a good idea to check and see what she is up to... Let's just leave it at... we need stock in Scotch Tape! LoL!!
